Preparing for Smalls Sliders to “drop their CAN” at their new MacArthur Village location in Alexandria Wednesday morning, I began visiting with Lindy Simmons, Smalls Sliders social media manager at the swag table she was assembling.
While others went for t-shirts and free combo coupons, I had my eye on something better: the bright orange plastic hard hat!
Smorange is Smalls Sliders custom color and the Smalls swag station was loaded down with all kinds of treats in their trademark hue!
Simmons is from Atlanta and had flown down for Alexandria’s Can Drop. A prefabricated structure, similar to a shipping container, is lowered by a crane into place and secured. Interior and landscaping complete the construction of the drive-through and outdoor seating only restaurant who specializes in high-quality cheeseburger sliders.
Simmons had been in Lake Charles two weeks ago for their first Can drop will drive to Baton Rouge tomorrow for the Can drop of their fourth store. Smalls is one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in America.
Their vision is “to be the cheeseburger slider brand that shakes up the big burger industry.” With record numbers like they’ve been producing, they are sure to succeed.
Smalls Sliders recognizes a Smalls Town Hero in each city they drop a Can and Peabody Magnet Coach Charles Smith was honored in Alexandria.
Asked where it fell among his many accolades, Coach Smith responded, “Very high. It’s a true honor.”
Smalls Sliders is slated to open Fall 2024. They are located at 1400 MacArthur Drive, Alexandria. Look for the bright orange building!
