PUFF PASTRY APPLE TURNOVERS
Excellent for breakfast or dessert …
Ingredients
• 5 small apples
• 1 pkg of Puff Pastry
• 1 cup sugar and Cinnamon to taste
• 1 egg
Directions:
Preheat oven 415 degrees
Peel and slice the apples into thin slices (I used mandolin) and set aside.
Mix sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
Roll out the pastry dough on a well-floured surface. Cut the pastry sheet into 6 equal pieces place 4-5 pieces of apple in the centered on pastry square.
Top with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
Fold the dough over the apples, creating tiny pockets. Place each turnover on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Whisk the eggs in a small bowl and brush the tops of each pie with the beaten eggs.
Place in over bake for 15 minutes.
Serve warm or cold.
Can drizzle with glaze.
