Ingredients:
• 1 – 16 oz loaf of French Bread
• 2½ cups of Milk
• 1 cup Half and Half
• 4 – Eggs
• 1 Cup Sugar
• 1 Tbs. Vanilla
• 1/8 tsp Salt
• 1 large Apple Diced
• 1 Cup Pecans Chopped
• ½ Cup Softened Butter
• 1½ Cup Packed Brown Sugar
• 2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
• Preheat oven 350 degrees
• Tear up bread into small pieces and place into large bowl
• Whisk together eggs and add milk, half and half, sugar, salt and vanilla.
• Pour mixture over the bread and mix up. Then set aside (at least 15 miutes)
• In a small bowl mix with a fork softened butter and brown sugar then add the pecans and apples.
• Put ½ of the bread mixture into an 8 x 8 pan and top with ½ of brown sugar mixture. Press down into the pan.
• Add the rest of the bread mixture.
• Top with the last of the brown sugar mixture.
• Your pan will be very full so place it on a cookie sheet with sides and cover with parchment paper to help with clean up if there is over flow.
• Bake for 1¼ – 1½ hours
• It will be soft in the middle but sides should be firmly soft and top crusty. Let it cool to set and firm up for serving.
Double recipe will fit in a 9 x 13 pan.
