Brought To You By Ward Hardware
This year, Ward Hardware celebrates an incredible 100 years of serving the community with quality products and unparalleled service. Founded in 1925 by John Ward in a storefront at 1734 Lee Street, the business quickly became a trusted destination for everyone in the community tackling projects big and small.
From the very beginning, John Ward Hardware’s reputation was built on two key principles: exceptional customer care and a diverse selection of reliable products. These were not just guiding values—they were a way of life for the Ward family.
In the 1950s, John passed the business to his eldest son, Max Ward, who continued the legacy, ensuring the business remained a fixture of the community. Max’s commitment to service went beyond customer transactions—he believed in building relationships with every neighbor who walked through the door.
By 1985, Max’s nephew Clint Ward took over, marking the start of a new chapter for John Ward Hardware. Clint expanded the business, opening a second location on Jackson Street in 1990 and, in 2000, combining both stores into one modern facility at 1415 Metro Drive, where the business thrives today.
In 2020, Clint passed the baton to his son, Taylor Ward, ushering in the fourth generation of leadership. Under Taylor’s guidance, Ward Hardware remains committed to its founding mission of providing top-notch service, trusted Ace Hardware products, and ongoing support for the local community.
From its humble beginnings to its current position as a cornerstone of the community, Ward Hardware’s 100-year journey is a true testament to hard work, family values, and an unwavering dedication to service. Here’s to another hundred years of success!
