DIEF’S TEXAS CHILI

3 lbs. Ground Beef
2 white onions (chopped)
6 cloves garlic (chopped)
One large green bell pepper
1 Can Ranch Style beans
3 Large cans Tomato sauce
11/2 cans water
1 small can chili ready diced tomatoes
8 tbs.Chili Powder (four different color powders – red – orange – light brown and brown)
5 tbs Cumin
2 tbs Onion Powder
2 tbs. Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper to taste
Hershey’s Chocolate Bar

In a large pot brown and crumble ground beef. While cooking add 3 tbs. of Cumin and 1 tbs of each color of Chili powders, along with 1 tbs of onion powder and 1 tbs of garlic powder. Salt and pepper. Drain excess grease and add chopped onion and garlic. Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes on medium/high heat. Add all tomatoes, Ranch Style Beans and water, while bringing to a boil add the rest of the seasoning to chili. Tip: Make sure you stir frequently while bringing to a boil. This is when it can stick to the bottom of the pot. Once boiling skim the foam off the top until all the grease and foam is gone. Then simmer for 30 minutes covered stirring occasionally. add Chocolate bar, stir and serve.

You can serve over elbow macaroni, cornbread, Fritos or rice.
Condiments: Crackers, Jalapenos, Cheese, chopped white onions, and Mexican Hot Sauce
