Four LCU theatre majors/minors performed monologues at Hemingway House of Stories and Spirits in Pineville last month. This is exactly what the space was created for, and these talented students brought a fun-filled night with selections from stage and screen.
From Shakespeare to Must-See-TV (with a dash of the Muppets), all of the selections were entertaining. Some powerful, some hilarious, some downright unsettling… each showcasing the talent of some of LCU’s most beloved theatre majors: Olivia Huffman, Kaylin Bagby, Cayden Walls, and Kayla Condrey.
I knew them all. I’d seen them in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Women: The Broadway Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, and more. They’d made me laugh, they’d made me cry, and they’d blown me away over and over again.
This showcase was my encore.
It’ll have to tide me over ‘til next season, but it’ll be well worth the wait. The 2026-2027 season includes Anastasia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and My Fair Lady. What a fabulous season
