Brought To You By Evergreen Life Services
Music echoed through the room, maracas shook in every direction, and the dance floor stayed busy as individuals served by Evergreen Life Services in Alexandria and Pineville celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a fiesta full of color, creativity, and community spirit.
The celebration was a true group effort from the very beginning. A week ahead of the event, excitement was already building as individuals worked together creating handmade maracas and festive decorations. With help from Mary Cutsinger, preparation became part of the fun, giving everyone the chance to contribute their own creativity and personality to the celebration.
On Fiesta Day, community homes gathered together bringing sack lunches while Day Hab served nachos prepared with help from the Ridgemont and Country community homes. Some individuals arrived dressed in bright festive colors, while others came more casual, ready to reconnect with friends and enjoy the music. Before long, the room filled with laughter, dancing, and plenty of celebration.
Events like this offer far more than entertainment. They create opportunities for individuals to connect with others, build friendships, and experience the joy that comes from being part of a community. For many, social gatherings help strengthen confidence and independence by encouraging participation, self-expression, and interaction in a welcoming environment.
Whether helping prepare food, making decorations, choosing an outfit, or stepping onto the dance floor, every person played a role in making the event memorable. These shared experiences help individuals feel valued, included, and empowered to be themselves.
The Cinco de Mayo celebration also reflects the mission of Evergreen Life Services, and they continue supporting meaningful lives filled with dignity, purpose, and connection.
