If you’re looking for a reason to enjoy the outdoors, grab a jacket and head downtown! Not only are there some gorgeous lights right now, but the Rapides Parish Library has partnered with Alexandria and Pineville businesses to bring you a Winter Storywalk that will be available through January 14th. Beginning at the Hotel Bentley Restaurant in downtown Alexandria, follow our path to discover and read the pages of the children’s book Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry.
This New York Times bestselling picture book contains simple, rhyming text and subtle messages of kindness and compassion. It is a delightful story about making and helping friends that will enchant readers young and old because it’s never too early – or too late – to stick up for your friends.
Getting outdoors to enjoy the fresh air and a bit of reading isn’t the only benefit of Winter Storywalk. Some participating businesses will provide a discount when you show your library card! You can be entered into a drawing for your very own copy of “Stick and Stone” by taking a selfie with one of the story pages and emailing it to libraryrapidesparish@gmail.com
