Northwestern State University ROTC Cadet Dylan H. Trueblood of Natchitoches took the oath of a commissioned officer of the U.S. Army Thursday in conjunction with commencement exercises. Trueblood earned a Bachelor of General Studies with a major concentration in computer and natural science and double minors in military leadership and computer information systems.
After graduating from Northwood High School, Trueblood joined the ROTC program at NSU, having already served as a member of the National Guard. In addition to serving as Color Sergeant for two years, he served in multiple leadership positions, including Battalion Administrative Officer, Operations Officer and Special Projects Officer.
Trueblood branched Armor and will continue to serve in the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Scout Platoon Leader for Alpha Troop, 2nd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment in Natchitoches.
