The 2022 Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program is waving “hello” to July at your Rapides Parish Library. In June, children from all over the parish joined us for good lunches, great books, and a lot of fun during crafting programs and special events including Didgeridoo Down Under and The Harvey Rabbit and Friends Show. It’s not too late to hop aboard the Summer Reading Program boat, though! Register online by downloading the Beanstack app and following the prompts to sign up or visit any RPL location and their friendly staff members will help you register.
One great possibility, made available through a partnership with the Central Louisiana Food Bank is Fuel Up for Summer. From now until August 5 th , children and teens aged one through eighteen may visit the library to eat a nutritious lunch for free.

Westside Regional Library: Monday – Friday, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

After fueling up your body with lunch, fuel up your brain by checking out great books and participating in ocean-themed arts and crafts. Also, be sure not to sail through summer without enjoying the next two summer reading program entertainers! Special entertainers will include Magician David Lebeouf (July 11 – 16) who will entertain children of all ages with the magic of his awe-inspiring tricks and musical entertainers Brian and Terri Kinder (July 25-29) who promise a rollicking good time.
