LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER, MAY 2023

Brought To You By 318Central.com ... Dan Diefenderfer and Orkke Clifton

In 2013, LSUA’s future was questionable. They were actually looking to make several changes at LSUA, none of them forward-moving. THEN, the university was blessed to get Dr. Paul Coriel as chancellor.

LSUA recently held the groundbreaking of their upcoming twelve million dollar Martin Family Student Center. Governor Edwards and the president of LSU were in attendance to add their support. The Martin family, with a $2 million contribution, put the entire project into motion and it could not have been done without them.

We now have three four-year universities in Central Louisiana. All three are doing exceptionally well. Higher education is alive and growing in CenLa.

We are happy to report that Mariners in Natchitoches, and Robbie G’s and Red Kettle in Alexandria, have all reopened their doors. The return of dining establishments to CenLa isn’t the only thing going on this month, it’s also time for the annual Jazz /R&B Festival in Natchitoches. Several stages, a fantastic selection of music, along with food and drink, make for an absolutely great time. See more details about the event in the magazine (https://www.318central.com/chestnuttbyrdcupidtoheadlinenatchitochesjazzrbfestival/).

Always remember to support your local businesses. We grow our communities by supporting CenLa! And, please, don’t forget to spread a little love around …

Until next time … See CenLa on the pages of 318Central.com … there’s so much to do!
