Spring has sprung at your Rapides Parish Library! As the temperatures warm and we see more of the sun, the Library is preparing for some fantastic outdoor events interwoven with educational opportunities.
The month of April begins with our Marigold Magic program at the Westside Regional Library on April 6. This event is fun for all ages and will include information about marigolds, how to capture and preserve their seeds, and their benefits. Attendees will have a chance plant their own seeds and get things growing! You can check out books or look at our bouquet of databases to find information for your gardening needs as well.
That same week will bring the return of the RPL Egg-stravaganza on April 4, 2023 at 10 am at Main Library. The children’s event will begin with tales by Ms. Rosa Metoyer then be followed by an egg hunt in the Huie-Dellmon House’s garden. A rumor is circulating that there may be a visit from special guest during the egg hunt, but we don’t want anyone to hop to any conclusions about who that may be!
We will continue the month by celebrating Love the Boot Week (April 17-23) where we will have some offerings to support the cleanup of our beautiful state and all of its natural wonder.
