With an impressive display of athletic excellence, the LSUA Generals had a triumphant season in the Red River Athletic Conference. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams achieved remarkable success.
Under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Dimario Jackson, the men’s team captured the championship title for the 2024 Red River Athletic Conference Tournament and Regular Season with a decisive 90-72 victory over the University of the Southwest Mustangs.
The electric game saw standout performances fromKashie Natt, who scored 24 points and was named tournament MVP, and JD Allen, contributing 20 points with four three-point shots. Isaiah Howard and Jason Perry also delivered impressive double-digit figures, dominating the rebound battle 38-26.Coach Jackson’s exemplary leadership earned him the well-deserved Coach of the Year title.
The Generals’ honors extended further, with Kashie Natt receiving the Player of the Year award and Isaiah Howard being named Co-Freshman of the Year. Senior JD Allen and Nattwere selected for the First Team All-Conference, with Jason Perry securing a spot on the Second Team. EJ McQuillan, Isaiah Howard, and Grant Kemp also received significant accolades.
The women’s team, guided by Head Coach Billy Perkins, celebrated an equally impressive season, culminating in Perkins being named Coach of the Year.
Dannah Martin-Hartwick, a major contributor to the team’s 22-5 record, was honored with a First Team All-Conference and Champions of Character team spot, having achieved 1000 career points in just three seasons. Jewel Jones’ sharpshooting skills earned her a place on the Second Team All-Conference. Benedetta Peracchi and Amani Gray were also recognized, receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention.
LSUA’s basketball programs had a memorable season, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the coaches and athletes, showcasing their strength and depth of talent.
