As December comes closer and the end of this insane year draws near, I wanted to take the time to evaluate the hardships that have occurred and find the good within them. Many families are preparing their beautiful Christmas trees, stringing up lights around their home, and wrapping gifts to place under the tree. I am reflecting on the blessings that this year has given me. Having to slow down has allowed me to reflect on my past, lean into my present, and look to my future.
This time has allowed me to grow closer in my spiritual walk with God. As I finish another semester, I look so forward to the Christmas break, because I appreciate the gift that each day on this earth has for each of us. God has blessed me with many creative gifts, and I appreciate the fact that, while this holiday season is like none other, it is the perfect time to lean in and listen to the direction, guidance, and whisper within my soul as it pertains to where life is leading me, and how I should use my talents.
There is no better time than the present to allow ourselves the privilege of constructing a Vivid Vision for our careers, and our lives. I read this book after Wayne Mullins of Ugly Mug Marketing recommended it, and it was an exciting God wink to discover, a week after reading Cameron Herold’s book by the same name, that the Business Acceleration System was sponsoring an event by the author.
This year has provided me with quiet reflection and allowed me to observe the world around me. It has given me the time needed to start walking into the journey that was meant for me. Taking the time this month to construct my own vivid vision for my life is the best gift I can give myself. Yes, there is much uncertainty for us all at this time, but as Ruth Soukup has also taught me this year, sometimes, we just have to step into the changes, and do it scared. I am just so grateful that 2020 has given me the opportunity to truly see life with 20/20 vision as it pertains to my past, present, and future. I will welcome 2021 in a few short weeks with enthusiasm and optimism, turning my dreams into reality. In doing so, I am allowing life to take my hopes and dreams to parts unknown.
The most precious gift you can give yourself this holiday season is to take time to explore your own vivid vision for your life. The most precious gift you can give others is to look around and see who has helped you during the chaos that ensued this year. Tell them what a blessing they were to you. In doing so, I can promise you will, in turn, be giving them one of the most precious gifts they will ever receive, because you are taking the time to let them know they are appreciated, and valued. You would be surprised how many people consider kind words of encouragement a blessing in disguise.
Many blessings this holiday season.
XO,
Jen
