AWARD-WINNING ‘LATINO LIVING’ PODCAST RETURNS FOR SEASON 2

Northwestern State University’s Hispanic Student Journalist Association returns with Season 2 of “Latino Living,” a podcast produced in cooperation with the Department of New Media, Journalism and Communication Arts.  The podcast is produced by and for students with the goal of sharing, discussing and bringing to light issues faced by Hispanics living in central Louisiana.

The most recent episode is titled “Trends.” “Latino Living” can be viewed on Youtube and Spotify.  This episode features a talk with Mirla Gonzalez Enriquez, associate professor in the graphic communications, to discuss trends and the cultural impact that they have on the Hispanic community.

Earlier this year, “Latino Living” producers recieved a $3,000 grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, to support initiatives focused on the humanities to promote history, culture and humanities-related projects that tell Louisiana’s story. The podcast crew was alsowas awarded the 2023 Bronze Telly: Branded Content-General-Podcast, a national honor.
