Brought To You By The Avoyelles Arts and Music Fest
With heavy hitters like Grammy winning Louisiana icon WAYNE TOUPS and zydeco superstar LIL NATE lighting up the DETEL STAGE, the return of AAMF / Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival (after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic), is destined to be this summer’s hottest staycation! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, AAMF is a day long, fun filled day for the entire family that kicks off at 10am Monday, July 4th, on and around the grounds surrounding Broken Wheel Brewery in Marksville. Opening ceremonies begin at 10AM followed by Louisiana’s longest running Fourth of July Parade. The Avoyelles Arts Council has created a Fourth of July village on the grounds surrounding the wildly popular brewery complete with arts and crafts vendors, plenty of activities and games for the kids, food vendors of every kind, a beer garden and a Car, Truck, Bike, and Jeep Show that’s been a huge hit the last couple of festivals. Throw a firecracker lineup of live music into the mix, and “THE 4TH ” in “da parish” is the only place to be! AAMF is also FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, thanks to the many generous sponsors and community partners who come together to create an event for all of Central Louisiana and beyond to enjoy!
“We started AAMF in 2012 as a way to add to the parade and unite the community through all the aspects we love about Louisiana … the music, the food, the arts …” says Allison Ravare-Augustine, president of the Avoyelles Arts Council, producer of the festival. The lineup this year does not disappoint and has a little something for everyone. In addition to headliners Wayne Toups and Lil Nate, festival goers will enjoy the high spirited funk of one of New Orleans’s premier brass bands the Brass-a-Holics. A roster of regional musicians anchor the day long event including rock titans Anxiety and the Hot Sause Band, known for bringing a soulful and fun vibe to the party. Rounding out this year’s all star lineup is Alexandria’s Josh Hyde, whose latest release “Parish Blues”, is currently topping Louisiana charts and getting lots of airplay on blues radio. Music lovers are definitely in for a treat!
The Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and is proudly sponsored by TITLE SPONSORS DETEL and State Representative Daryl Deshotel, Paragon Casino Resort and the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe in addition to many local and corporate sponsors. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT AND SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY!
Festival grounds will close at 8pm just in time for a dazzling fireworks display on Tunica-Biloxi grounds by Paragon Casino Resort approximately two miles down Highway 1 from the festival. The fireworks are presented by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, Paragon Casino Resort and the City of Marksville Fire Department and will begin at nightfall.
