SUMMER FUN FROM EVERGREEN

Brought To You By Evergreen Life Services

Evergreen Life Services would like to express our gratitude to Sam Brimer and Atty Trevor Fry for hosting lunch and a day of fishing at The Lakes for the incredible individuals entrusted to our care. What a fantastic adventure for the residents of Bouef Trace Community Home! They had a wonderful time!

Sam gave them personal attention by teaching and helping them catch some fish. When they weren’t fishing or grilling outdoors at the covered dock and pavilion, they were appreciating the beauty of nature!

Community friendships are essential for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, significantly contributing to their overall well-being, social inclusion, and quality of life. These friendships foster a sense of belonging, enhance social skills, and provide valuable emotional and practical support.

Someone with a disability needs to maintain strong relationships because, like you and me, we all need someone to talk to without feeling judged. We also need friends who share our interests and enjoy similar activities. This is essential for our mental health.

You can continue to support individuals with disabilities in your community in leading independent and inclusive lives. Please visit our website at evergreenls.org to learn more about our programs and how you can contribute! If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with Carolyn Gresham, Executive Director for Central Louisiana, at c.gresham@evergreenls.org.
