Brought To You By Journey Church; Pastor James Greer
There’s a divine order to the Christian life. When we get it out of order, we get frustrated. When we get it in order, we experience peace, purpose, and power.
At the center of that order is one word: Love.
“We love Him because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
Everything begins here. Not with effort. Not with performance. Not with proving yourself. It begins with receiving.
1. Receive His Love First
You cannot consistently live for God if you are not securely loved by God.
Many believers try to serve first, give first, sacrifice first — but skip the most important step: letting God love them. When you truly understand that you are loved, chosen, and secure in Christ, your identity becomes settled.
And when your identity is settled, your life becomes stable.
2. Love Him Back With Everything
When you receive His love, your natural response is devotion.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” — Mark 12:30
Love is not just a feeling — it’s priority.
What you love, you give to.
What you love, you think about.
What you love, you protect.
What you love, you pursue.
If God truly has your heart, it will show in your time, your obedience, your generosity, and your focus.
3. Serve and Give From That Love
Here’s where life becomes powerful.
When you serve out of duty, you burn out.
When you give out of guilt, you resent it.
But when you serve and give out of love, you thrive.
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord…” — Colossians 3:23
Love transforms responsibility into privilege.
The Result: God Works It All Together
We quote this verse often, but we sometimes miss the condition attached to it.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God…” — Romans 8:28
Notice — to those who love God.
When love leads your life:
• Your trials gain purpose.
• Your obedience produces fruit.
• Your generosity brings joy.
• Your struggles strengthen you.
When love leads, everything follows.
Final Encouragement
If your life feels out of order, don’t try to fix everything at once.
Start here:
Receive His love.
Love Him back.
Serve and give from that love.
When you do, you’ll discover something powerful —
God begins to work everything together for your good.
And that is a great way to live.
