TWO RODEOS COMING TO ALEXANDRIA IN AUGUST

By Jeanni Ritchie

On August 2, Bulls, Bands, and Barrels comes to the Laborde Earles (nee Rapides Parish) Coliseum for a rodeo like you’ve never seen! Billed as “Not Your Grandpappy’s Rodeo,” this heart-pounding energy of a rodeo collides with live country music and intense barrel racing.

After a night of “bulls” and “barrels,” Treaty Oak Revival is headlining the “bands” portion of the evening with their rousing Southern Rock energy. Kolby Cooper will also be performing. Bulls, Bands, and Barrels is a fresh, thrilling take on rodeo entertainment that’ll change the way you look at rodeos.

The show starts at 6:30 PM. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.

Earlier that day is a different type of R.O.D.E.O., a Veteran Service and Resource Rodeo whose mission is No One Left Behind.

Jason D. Marze (USA-SSG-Ret) and Veteran Outreach Program Specialist, explains the program.

“The R.O.D.E.O. stands for Resilience, Outreach, Development, Encouragement, and Opportunity. While there won’t be any bulls or barrels, prepare for plenty of camaraderie, heartfelt connections, and, most importantly, veteran-specific resources that truly matter! Join the R.O.D.E.O. Coalition in inviting service members, veterans, and their families to the 2nd Annual Resource R.O.D.E.O. event on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Alexandria Mall.”

A resource rodeo and innovative rodeo experience all rolled into the same day!
