Brought To You By Evergreen Life Services
At Evergreen Life Services, family is forever. Building a genuine sense of family in our community homes is central to what we do. For the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities we serve, these connections mean more than just companionship; they provide a sense of belonging, joy, and improved health.
Recently, individuals we serve from four of our homes traveled to Natchitoches to visit their longtime friend and former roommate, James. James joined Evergreen in 2015 after facing many life challenges.
From the moment he arrived, he was welcomed by his new housemates. He found meaningful work in our day program, enjoyed traveling with friends, and made memories that made each day brighter. One of his favorite routines was watching The Price is Right every morning, often surrounded by the people who had become his family and his dedicated staff.
Over time, James’s health issues led him to move into a nursing home. However, his Evergreen family never forgot about him. With excitement and love, his friends, including his girlfriend, Benita, planned a day trip to visit. Their reunion was full of smiles, laughter, and the comfort of knowing that true family bonds last a lifetime.
At Evergreen, we accept individuals who face obstacles and lack access to essential services, and we stand with them to create lives filled with purpose, opportunity, and connection. Because at Evergreen, family isn’t just a word, it’s a promise.
