EMERSON DAY: A Voice That Won’t Be Tamed

By Jeanni Ritchie

Emerson Day is one to watch — not because she’s flashy, but because she’s real. I’ve followed her enough to know she’s unapologetic about her faith and her edge. She’s not smoothing the rough parts. She’s leaning into them.

In October, she performed at Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe as part of the God Did It Tour alongside Micah Tyler and Jordan St. Cyr. “Get Behind Me” thrust her into the national spotlight.

She’s not a newbie — her catalog shows her YouTube / Facebook presence with dozens of live performances and worship-led recordings.   But now her touring schedule has her slated for 28 shows between 2025–2026.

What I love about her is that she doesn’t hide the scars. Her songs carry both praise and lament. She exists in the tension of faith: strong, vulnerable, resolute. In a music world that often paints only perfection, she sings both the battle and the victory.

I talked briefly with her shortly after “Get Behind Me” reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Christian charts and she was amazed at what the Lord had done with the song. I knew all too well about storms that refine your message.

I look forward to hearing more from Emerson Day. She’s exactly who we need on the front lines of faith.
