The course was built with money from student fees. Originally, it was designed as a 9-hole facility with an Olympic sized swimming pool that holds 500,000 gallons of water and tennis courts.
The course opened in 1976 and remained a 9-hole course until 2000. Construction of the new 9-holes started in 1999. The course was opened as an 18-hole course in the Fall of 2000.
The course is not long but, with 3 sets of tees, it can offer a challenge for all skill levels. With no sand bunkers on the course, you may think that the course is easy. However, with water coming into play on 15 of the 18 holes, there are plenty of hazards to address.
If you want to get some practice, we have a driving range, putting green, and chipping green at the facility.
We are conveniently located just minutes from I-49 at the Natchitoches exit and open to the public, Tuesday-Sunday. If you would like more information, call the pro shop at (318) 357-6300.
