Recently, the LSUA Small Business Development Center celebrated its relocation as well as National SBDC Day. A ribbon cutting with the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce was held. This event also included the re-launch of the LSUA Continuing Education department which shares the space with the SBDC.
The LSBDC at LSU of Alexandria partners with local organizations including economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, municipalities, and other community groups to provide counseling and training to entrepreneurs and small businesses in Central Louisiana.
“The SBDC is a much-needed resource for entrepreneurs and established businesses alike. Business owners have a lot to manage, and our goal is to provide tools that will help them in many, many areas,” said Dean of the LSUA College of Business, Randall Dupont.
LSUA Chancellor Paul Coreil said, “The LSUA small business development center and the restructuring of the LSUA continuing education program are two examples of how the university prioritizes community engagement and resources and further illustrates LSUA’s commitment to economic and workforce development across the region.”
SBDC business consultant Evelyn Jones said, “Providing guidance and a multitude of resources at no cost is what the SBDC is all about, and we’re here for the central Louisiana community, as well as throughout the state.”
Louisiana SBDC offers high-quality consulting to existing and new small business owners at no charge, in addition to affordable training and high-quality market research. The LSBDC specializes in growth acceleration, international trade, government contracting, and emergency preparedness.
The LSBDC is a program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Louisiana Economic Development (LED), and LSU and is hosted by LSUA. The program is managed by the LSUA College of Business. For more information, go to www.louisianasbdc.org.
