If you’re going to make a burger, why not make a fatburger … because, obviously! As the name implies, Fatburger & Buffalo Express, the California-based burger & wings curators, has recently opened their doors here in the 318 and these fatty patties are most definitely living up to their name.
The first thing Fatburger does properly is the burger construction. As indicated by the sign positioned next to the register … bottom bun, then patty, then toppings, that’s it. I opted for the large, well dressed burger with fat fries, along with hot wings. Yup, you and your taste buds heard me correctly … a burger, fries and wings. The Alexandria location is unique in that it’s a dual kitchen of burgers and wings serving up the option of Fatburger’s burgers and the Buffalo Express world famous hot wings.
Be sure to check out their menu for other offerings. And don’t forget to top off anything you select with the made-to-order real ice cream milkshakes! Oh, yeah!
If you’ve really got the munchies, I recommend giving your burger the “turnt up” treatment and opting for the “hang in there” burger. This crucial situation features Fatburger’s fan-favorite OG Fatburger with all the fixings, including chili, onion rings, American cheese, bacon, egg and topped off with “the works,” on a freshly toasted sponge-dough bun.
