BLESSINGS FOR THANKSGIVING FROM AVOYELLES COMMISSION OF TOURISM …

by Wilbert Carmouche

Avoyelles Commission of Tourism takes this opportunity to wish all our readers a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday Season with a suggested prayer for Thanksgiving 2021.

This year continues to be difficult for many of us at this table. While this is a sweet moment, it’s also hard. The challenges we have faced in 2021 have been overwhelming, and as we gather to give thanks, we cannot ignore the fact that these feelings still linger, as does the pain. But let us remember, we know that you are a God who loves us, cares for us, heals us, and forgives us. Help us to enjoy this time. In the lingering bitterness, give us peace. We thank you for this meal and pray a blessing for our strength. Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving!

DID YOU KNOW? … Avoyelles Parish, in Central Louisiana, takes its name from Avoyels Indians, and we commemorate our Native American as well as French Creole heritage. The abundant wildlife and many waterways make this a hunting, fishing and birdwatching paradise, year-round. A thriving agriculture industry beckons foodie travelers for authentic Louisiana cuisine. Casino action boasts a different kind of wildlife, and a variety of accommodations make for a comfortable stay as you explore. LEARN MORE: http://www.travelavoyelles.com/about-us
