Brought To You By Regions 6, 3 & 8 LASTEM Centers; Hosted by LSUA
RECIPE for Rural STEM Day was an absolute success! Today was filled with hands-on STEM exploration and exciting learning opportunities for our 5th and 6th grade students throughout Louisiana. With 1403 participants and the valuable support of 125 dedicated community partners, teachers and volunteers, the event surpassed all expectations.
Students came from regions 5, 6, 7, and 8 to take part in this enriching experience, showcasing their enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It was heartwarming to witness their curiosity and passion for learning in action.
Our event was made even more special by the presence of community partners from both north and south Louisiana, as well as one from Alabama. Their contributions were instrumental in making RECIPE for Rural STEM Day a diverse showcase of STEM education. This exemplified the essence of the RECIPE acronym, revealing its true meaning: Relevant, Educational, Career Minded, Impactful, Purposeful, and Engaging.
From live alligators to robots, fire trucks to underwater robots, the range of activities and exhibits provided various STEM exposure to our students. Participants had the opportunity to engage with hands-on demonstrations, sparking their imagination and cultivating a deeper understanding of STEM concepts.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who played a role in making RECIPE Rural STEM Day a success. Your commitment to empowering our youth and promoting STEM education in rural communities is truly commendable.
Mark your calendars for next year’s RECIPE for Rural STEM Day 2025 event: February 20, 2025! Let’s continue to nurture the spirit of curiosity and innovation among our youth, inspiring them to pursue their passions and make meaningful contributions to our world.
