The Rapides Parish Library board of control is pleased to announce that Celise Reech-Harper has accepted the position of Library Director held most recently by the retiring Laura-Ellen Ayres.
Celise, born on the Bayou des Glaises in Bordelonville, Louisiana, joins us after gaining eleven years of experience as youth programming coordinator and Associate Director of Public Services within the Beauregard Parish Public Library system. She currently holds a Master of Arts in English from Northwestern State University and a Master of Science in Information Science from the University of Tennessee. She also serves as the Louisiana Library Association’s professional journal editor and 2020 conference chair.
As Library Director, she will be responsible for all business operations, including management of the assets of Rapides Parish Library; hiring, training, promotion, discipline, and termination of employees; and for establishing and maintaining the organization and structure to conduct the management functions of Rapides Parish Library efficiently, and more.
Celise looks forward to visiting the various communities that she will serve and is excited to work with the Rapides Parish Library board of control and staff to provide life-enhancing resources and services to the citizens of Rapides Parish.
