City Park Players is happy to bring Norm Foster’s touching dramedy The Melville Boys to Hearn Stage this summer. Directed by Alana Pate, this comedy opens Thursday, July 14 on Hearn Stage and features Rick Taylor, Steven Smith, Maura Herboldsheimer, and Reade Spivey.
ABOUT THE PLAY: A relaxing weekend trip full of fishing and beer is on the agenda for the Melville brothers…So is confronting eldest brother Lee’s terminal illness. Their trip is thrown for a loop when the boys meet two attractive sisters who inadvertently change more than their weekend plans. In this modern classic, Norm Foster offers a tender story about brotherhood and the unexpected. The Melville Boys is a witty, thought-provoking exploration of the strengths and failings of human relationships.
The Melville Boys performances continue July 14-24 – Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:30pm on Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria. Advance tickets range from $5-15, and are on sale now at cpptheatre.com. Tickets will also be available 30 minutes before each performance in the lobby of Kress Theatre.
