“I complained I had no shoes until I saw the person that had no legs.”
The wisest people on earth are those who have a hard time recalling their worries and an easy time remembering all their blessings. Those who can see the invisible can do the impossible. The greatest boxer in the history of the world, Muhammad Ali, said, “Impossible is not a fact. It is only an opinion.”
Too often, we learn to automatically believe the worst first, and the best last. The impossible is what nobody can do until somebody does it and that somebody can be you.
President Abraham Lincoln said, “Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out.”
“If we did all of the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves.” Thomas Edison
The person who sincerely wants to do something finds a way; all the others find an excuse for why they can’t do something.
When faced with great difficulties, hold clearly and tenaciously in your mind the thought that, with God’s help, you can gather your powers of concentration, reason, self-discipline and imagination to beat back the powers of believing you cannot do something. Never give up under any circumstances and you will be rewarded.
My friend, Judge Jay Hassan, lifted my spirits sky high during a difficult time in my coaching career when he told me that adversity only visits the strong but stays forever with the weak. That team went on to be a contender for the National Title.
When you actually change the negative way you look at things, the things you look at change for the positive. Always remember, there is a choice we have to make in everything we do. So keep in mind that, in the end, the choices we make, makes us.
We all have unlimited potential and, if we keep our feet planted in common sense and under no circumstances lose hope or give up, we will then and only then find true peace, happiness and success.
