Brought To You by City of Natchitoches, Mayor Ronnie Williams
Natchitoches Mayor Ronnie Williams, Jr., announces that the City of Natchitoches has been awarded $1,142,566 for street improvements under the FY 2023 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program.
This program, which targets public facilities improvements within low to moderate income neighborhoods, will provide for rehabilitation of the following streets in the City system: Brahma Drive, J.C. Deblieux Drive, Myrtle Drive, Ouida Drive, and Virginia Avenue.
“We continue to be aggressive in applying for various Federal and State grants that will improve quality of life for the citizens of Natchitoches,” stated Mayor Williams, “and we’ve been able to benefit virtually every part of the community with these projects.”
The Louisiana Office of Community Development will be administering these grant funds, which are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Following OCD issuance of an authorization to incur costs, the City will initiate the plan development work for this project, which should allow construction of these improvements to begin by early 2025.
