Broken Brown Wheel Bag Brewery
Out of the adversity of the current pandemic situation, a long time friendship has birthed a culinary partnership that will bring some welcomed flavor to our styrofoam plates, as we adjust to this new norm of dining out.
Jonathan Knoll and Trent Bonnette have teamed up, much like an NBA super team, except their talents will be showcased in the kitchen. Just as Lebron James and D Wade had eyebrow raising highlights when they teamed up in South Beach, Jonathan and his team at Broken Wheel, along with Trent and his Brown Bag Gourmet team of all-stars will be blending their distinct styles and talents to give Marksville and surrounding areas more incentive to emerge happily from “lock down” and visit the open air seating of the BeerGarten. Not all menu items have returned (I’m still pouting about the absence of the spinach and artichoke dip), but my mild tantrum was comforted at the sight of one of my favorite Brown Bag appetizers. The spicy tuna avocado stack is always a good choice. Add a shrimp poboy overflowing with golden brown shrimp and waffle fries and I’m all set.
Karley has resumed her post behind the bar and is still serving up the some of the best margaritas and mixed drinks in Cenla, and Brewmaster extraordinaire, Chris Pahl, is still holding it down, brewing up your favorite Broken Wheel Brewery brewskis like Páchafa and Spring Bayou Blonde.
This partnership between Broken Wheel Brewery and Brown Bag Gourmet speaks to the resiliency of us human beings and the spirit of team work we should all possess during these unprecedented times.
Stay Safe out there.
