A LITTLE BIT OF HOPE CAN GO A LONG WAY

Brought To You By Jennifer DePriest

Hope House of Central Louisiana welcomed its first residents on January 2, 1989. Now, 35 years later, the location has changed from where it all began, but the mission and vision are more important than ever.

It is the mission of Hope House to provide safe transitional housing and essential services to the homeless, empowering them to independence. The vision of Hope House is that everyone served within its walls become actively engaged role models demonstrating self-determination, responsibility, and good citizenship. When community leaders Joanne White and Polly Keller-
Winter conceived the idea for Hope House, based on the needs that they observed in our community, they had no way of knowing how vital this incredible organization would still be 35 years later.

In January 2024, NBC Nightly News ran a piece called “Los Angeles Students Facing Homeless Crisis.” While most would say that Los Angles is worlds away from Central Louisiana, students facing homelessness is something that students in Central Louisiana do face. Now more than ever, Hope House of Central Louisiana needs our help as a community, to meet the needs of our growing homeless population. The staff, board members, and volunteers are passionate about making a difference at Hope House of Central Louisiana and would like to encourage you to join us in our efforts.
