The summer has flown by and fall is right around the corner which means there will be plenty of fairs and festivals to entice you to plan a visit to Natchitoches. In September, Natchitoches hosts the annual Meat Pie Festival and Natchitoches Parish Fair and Rodeo.
This year’s 17th Annual Meat Pie Festival and 20th Annual River Run will be held on September 20th and 21st on the downtown riverbank in historic Natchitoches. This year’s event includes balloon rides, children’s activities, food vendors, arts and crafts, inflatables, gyro ball, climbing wall, laser tag and much more. In addition, there will be live entertainment each night with a fireworks show on Saturday. The best part of this event is it is FREE! The Natchitoches Parish Fair and Rodeo will be held September 22nd – 28th at the Natchitoches Fair Grounds. From carnival rides and livestock shows to live entertainment and a rodeo, you do not want to miss a day at the fair. The carnival will be open from Wednesday – Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Parking is free, but the gate fee is $4 per person with children 2 and under being free. The rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 adults, $8 children ages 4 – 12, and children ages 3 and under are free.
