Northwestern State University recognized several individuals for years of service to the school during the annual Fall Faculty Institute Aug. 10. The Faculty Institute marks the beginning of on-call week for faculty, a week of networking and professional development and an opportunity to honor faculty and staff for service to the university.
Faculty institute also included the introduction of nearly 40 new faculty members and additions to the NSU staff.
25 years of service:
Recognized for 25 years of service to NSU were, from left, Melissa Aldredge, Charlotte Grayson, Rafiqul Islam, Leslie Gruesbeck, Tammy Curtis, Becky Farmer, Frances Welch and Alexei Muravitsky.
30 years of service:
Recognized for 30 years of service to NSU were, from left, Patrice Moulton, Terrie Sanders and Richard DeVault.
35 years of service:
Ben Rushing was recognized for 35 years of service to the university.
45 years of service:
John Carter was recognized for 45 years of service.
65 years of service:
Dr. Hiram “Pete” Gregory got a standing ovation when he was recognized for 65 years of service to NSU. Dr. Gregory began teaching at NSU in 1961 and is believed to be NSU’s longest-serving employee.
