Montessori Educational Center celebrated its Fourth Annual Lip Sync Battle on Saturday, September 21, at the Holiday Inn Downtown. More than 450 guests at the sold-out event enjoyed a night of outrageous costumes, daring choreography and spectacular performances, as fourteen acts competed to be crowned Lip Sync Champions.

Board Members, parent volunteers, teachers and community sponsors work together to bring the popular fundraising event to the Central Louisiana community each fall. Contestants compete for various titles awarded by the judges including outstanding performance, best choreography, costume design, the “keeping it real” award. A people’s choice award is decided by audience vote.

In addition to sponsorships and ticket sales, a live and silent auction are held during the event to generate an additional source of revenue for the nonprofit school. Established in 1978, Montessori Educational Center serves children eighteen months through the eighth grade. Proceeds from the Lip Sync Battle support teacher training, continuing education, technology and capital improvements to the school.
