As we roll into October, temperatures look like they will finally drop below the mid 90’s! That means fall is in the air and that it is time for the 14th Annual Pineville Fall Family Festival. Once again, this event will be held at Kees Park. This year’s Fall Fest is Tuesday, Oct 29th, from 6-8 pm. For your $1 admission, which goes to support our Youth Center, you will receive a hot dog, popcorn, drinks and PLENTY of candy from local businesses.
Mayor Fields tries to personally greet everyone that comes through and give the children a treat as they enter the front gate. Make sure you stop by and say hi. Plus, check out the fun characters such as Cinderella, Mickey and Minnie that are out and about. There will be inflatables to play on, face painting, crafts and all the fun you can handle in the 2 hours of the 14th Annual Pineville Family Fall Festival!
Saturday, November 2nd, finds the 2019 Historic Rapides Cemetery Walking Tour making its yearly return. 3-5PM – Guided Walking Tours every 15 minutes to meet 5 characters buried at Historic Rapides Cemetery circa 1780 located on Hattie St., Pineville, LA (Pineville side of the Jackson St. Bridge). Wristbands will be sold at the cemetery gate: $10 for Adults, $5 for Children (12 and under). Books will be for sale – $20 for Under the Shade of the Trees cemetery books, $15 for Rapides Cemetery: Oldest Cemetery in Rapides Parish (old red book with grave listings). All tickets will be sold on the day of the event at the gate. All proceeds benefit cleanup and preservation.
Mark you calendars for November 30th when the 5th Saturday Market returns to Main Street. This promises to be our BIGGEST Main Street Market of the year! Take this opportunity to support local vendors as they offer up some of their craftiest Christmas Ideas for you. You are guaranteed to find something you like. There will be Food Trucks, Crafts, and local artists performing Christmas music from 9 AM-2PM. Bring a friend and come experience the excitement at the 5th Saturday Market on Main Street, November 30th from 9AM-2PM.
Then, on Monday, December 2nd, come see the KCS Railroad Holiday Express as it makes a stop behind the baseball field at Louisiana College. The Holiday Express has been a fan favorite for years and this year will be no different. The Holiday Express will be in Pineville from 4-8pm Monday, December 2nd.
