I always thought you’d have to live in a bigger city to ever eat from a food truck unless you were at the fair. I became fascinated with food trucks after reading one of James Patterson’s Bookshots, Killer Chef. The whole idea of a rally of food trucks just seemed so cool. But they were in New Orleans, the closest I’d ever get to an authentic food truck scene.
But then Front Yard Food Trucks was born! The Pineville landmark hosts a daily line-up of food trucks, a farmer’s market in season, and a monthly community party.
In addition to the lineup of food trucks like The Sugar Shack, Keep on Rolling Eggrolls and More, ARABITes, and Boba Stop, there are a variety of other activities at the monthly event- inflatable axe throwing, inflatable Connect Four, inflatable jumpers, mobile arcade, various vendors, mobile petting zoo, and entertainment.
Last month Front Yard Food Trucks showed Elf on the giant screen, the holiday classic bringing families bundled in warm pajamas and blankets for the outdoor show.
The popular community event is a way to support local, visit with neighbors, and have fun. It is a family-friendly gathering place, the intended vision of its owners and the best part is that it’s right here in Central Louisiana. Follow on Facebook at Front Yard Food Trucks and check them out at frontyardfoodtrucks.com.
You can even sign up for the weekly newsletter that shows which trucks will be at the park each day during the week as well as the special monthly event.
Visit Front Yard Food Trucks at 5233 Hwy. 28 East, Pineville.
