SOUTHERN CREATIONS – A REVIEW

by Ronny Green

Hello everyone, welcome to February. I hope your resolve for a “new year, new me” is going accordingly. If, by chance, that resolution includes healthier eating habits I wish you continued success while also offering to you your next favorite lunch time cheat day destination.

Mondays are reserved for red beans and rice. But what if I told you that Mondays at Southern Creations you could have red beans and rice, fried chicken, pork loin with rice and gravy, lasagna (sometimes spaghetti), green beans, sweet corn, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, an ice cold coke to wash it all down and then, bread pudding with the rum sauce, peach cobbler, strawberry shortcake, softball sized chocolate chip cookies and/or brownies. I may be rambling, but that’s how the options where laid out in front of me on a Monday afternoon. The fried chicken is the star of the buffet line not only on Mondays; the wings, drums, breasts and thighs are fresh and hot for lunch Monday-Friday..

Owner Tommy Sauvé, joined me as I finished off my little corner of bread pudding with the rum sauce (emphasis on the rum sauce). Mr Sauvé also emphasizes his “not your me too bread budding” as a favorite among daily visitors for lunch. Southern Creations began and still operations as a full service catering company. Tommy attributes much of the success of Southern Creations to his excellent staff and cooks like Mr. Michael who’s been in the kitchen since 2003.
