99 CENTRAL LOUISIANA EVENTS IN OCTOBER

by Jeanni Ritchie

The fall always brings out many festivities, from celebrating health awareness causes with walks to honoring those special flavors that fill our senses as the weather turns a little cooler.

October brings us National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National PT monthTackling Hunger Month, National Friends of Libraries Week, National Chili Month, National Chocolate Day, and National Make a Difference Day, among others.

I’ve gathered 99 local October events from entertainment to self-improvement with all points in between. While I haven’t included any of the traditional Halloween events in this list, there are plenty to choose from in Central Louisiana. I recommend checking out Facebook’s Local Events for even more fall fun!

Some of these events are free; some have a fee. You’ll notice a wealth of free programming through the Rapides Parish Libraries. Utilize these resources. They are created for YOU!
