During the holidays, we gather together with family and friends for good food, good times, and the sharing of good memories. With so many good vibes going around, we also tend to overindulge in all the tasty goodness. So much good turkey, ham, dressing, roast, brisket, mac-n-cheese, gumbo, cakes and pies can leave us feeling a little heavy as we stumble towards the finish line of the holidays and into a new year.
Luckily, for us and our resolutions to eat more healthy, the friendly folks over at Chicken Salad Chick believe good food brings people together and they pride themselves on serving chicken salad that nourishes the soul by offering a fresh and healthy spin on Mom’s classic recipes. Local favorites include the Jalapeño Holly and the Kickin’ Kay Lynne which has jalapeños and sriracha. My fave was the Sassy Scotty; a zesty blend of ranch, bacon and shredded cheese. Chicken Salad Chick also offers a variety of pimento cheeses, salads, sandwiches and soups.
Dustin Goynes maintains the attitude that “whether you’re selling insurance, senior care, chicken salad, or tires, you’re in the people business …”. It’s that approach, along with the warm and cozy at home atmosphere, that makes Chicken Salad Chick a welcomed addition to the MacArthur Drive restaurant scene.
